Partner Visa
The Partner visa allows the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia. There are two main streams: the onshore visa (Subclass 820/801) for applicants applying within Australia, and the offshore visa (Subclass 309/100) for those applying from outside the country. The process is typically two-stage: a temporary visa is granted first (Subclass 820 or 309), followed by permanent residency (Subclass 801 or 100) after a qualifying period.
Applicants must demonstrate a genuine and continuing relationship, meet health and character requirements, and provide extensive supporting evidence, including shared financial and social commitments. The sponsor must also meet eligibility requirements and agree to support the applicant. Partner visas offer a pathway to permanent residency and, eventually, Australian citizenship. At Divine Immigration Consultants, we assist in preparing a strong application, ensuring compliance and increasing the chances of a successful outcome.
